Great Presence of OncoRNALab at Oncopoint

Three PhD fellows from OncoRNALab win best poster prize

Yesterday, the Cancer Research Institute Ghent (CRIG) organized a new edition of OncoPoint at the beautiful Sint Pieter’s Abbey in Ghent. Many members of OncoRNALab joined the event, making the most of this chance to learn about the latest cancer research at Ghent University and connect with other researchers.

PhD fellows Thijs, Elena, Hanne, and Xin presented their projects through posters. Xin also gave a short talk to introduce her research and poster. In the end, Elena, Hanne, and Xin won the Best Poster Prize, a great achievement for their hard work.

Congratulations to all!

Thijs’s project consists of the development of a new platform for biomarker discovery.

Elena is working on the application of blood microsamples and gene profiling in personalized medicine.

Hanne is focusing on the creation of an in-house platform for spatial transcriptomics.

Xin’s work focuses on long non-coding RNA and the development of a technology that allows their characterization based on CRISPRi.
